David A. Ricci Appointed President and CEO of Saint Michael's Medical Center
Ricci, who brings to the role more than 30 years' experience as a health-care executive, joined Saint Michael's as interim President and CEO in January. At the time, Ricci served as a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group in New York. Ricci's previous experience includes senior leadership positions with numerous urban and suburban teaching hospitals. Ricci will oversee the implementation of the hospital's upcoming capital projects, which include a major emergency department expansion and the relocation of its ambulance entrance to Central Avenue. Saint Michael's Medical Center has been a fixture in Newark's Central Ward since the hospital's founding in 1867. "Thanks to his strong commitment to the hospital and to the community it serves, I am confident that David Ricci is leading Saint Michael's Medical Center in the right direction," said Persichilli.
